Independent Living is a state of mind. It has to do with exercising options, making choices, self-determination,  and the right to control your own life. Mounting Horizons Center For Independent Living advocates for the full participation in society of all persons with disabilities. Our strategy is to provide consumer-driven services at no cost to persons with disabilities in Galveston County.

Centers for Independent Living (CILS) serve as a strong advocacy voice on a wide range of national, state and local issues. They work to assure physical and programmatic access to housing, employment, transportation, recreational facilities and health and social services.
